Are you on medication for high blood pressure?
New NHS Service for Free Blood Pressure Checks
The NHS now offers a service to help you find local pharmacies that provide free blood pressure checks: https://www.nhs.uk/…/find-a-pharmacy-that-offers-free…/
This is especially useful if you’re following a low-carb lifestyle and taking blood pressure medication. Checking regularly is crucial, as you may find your blood pressure drops and you need to adjust or stop your medication under medical supervision.
The Freshwell app advises: “Checking your blood pressure regularly is especially important if you are on any medication because you may find very quickly that you no longer need this medication and may need to stop taking it or reduce the dose. You should not do this without medical supervision.”
Take advantage of these free pharmacy checks to monitor your levels and work closely with your doctor to manage any medication changes as you transition to low-carb.
Do I need a call from a health coach?
Some people decide that they are fine to just access the self-guided resources and link up with the support groups independently. Please let me know if you are happy to self-guide so that I can allocate your telephone slot to someone else and help cut down our wait time. [email protected]
If you would like to keep your call, then I can give an overview of the programme and its resources and local support available and answer any questions. We can also have a chat about your goals, motivations and any challenges.
